Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about mobile notary and signing services.

Mobile Notary FAQ

A mobile notary is a notary public who travels to the client's location to perform notarizations. Instead of requiring you to find and travel to a notary, we come to your home, office, hospital, or other agreed location at a scheduled appointment time.

We meet clients at homes, offices, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and other mutually agreed locations throughout Fairfax and Northern Virginia. We do not have a walk-in office location.

Each signer must present a current, government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID card, or passport. The name on your ID should match the name on your documents. If there is a discrepancy, contact us before your appointment to discuss.

Yes. Home appointments are one of the most common ways we serve clients. We come to your home at a time that works for your schedule.

Yes. We provide mobile notary appointments at hospitals and assisted living facilities throughout Northern Virginia. Please contact us before scheduling to discuss the specifics of your situation, as hospital appointments may require additional coordination.

We can notarize documents that contain proper notarial wording in English, even if the body of the document is in another language. We are not translators and do not provide translation services. Whether a foreign-language document can be accepted for its intended purpose is a question for the receiving institution.

No. Notarization verifies the identity of the signer and witnesses the act of signing. It does not certify that the contents of a document are true, that the document is legally valid for its intended purpose, or that it will be accepted by any particular institution.

Yes. We notarize Powers of Attorney that have been properly prepared. We do not draft Powers of Attorney, select the type of POA for clients, or provide legal advice about POA documents. If you need guidance on what type of POA is appropriate for your situation, please consult an attorney.

Yes. We notarize deeds, quitclaim deeds, affidavits, and other real estate documents that are properly prepared. We do not prepare real estate documents, advise on property transactions, or provide title or legal advice.

Yes. We offer Virginia-authorized Remote Online Notarization for eligible documents. Not all documents are eligible for RON, and acceptance can vary by institution. Contact us to discuss whether RON is appropriate for your situation before scheduling.
